Phillip Injeian began studying violin at the age of nine.  He continued his violin studies under the tutaledge of Ivan Galamian, Remauld Tecco, and John Fodor. By the age of thirteen, he had crafted his first violin under the direction of Vahakn Nigogosian, at the Stradivari Studios, on 57th Street, New York City.

After graduating from the famous Bronx High School of Science, Phillip continued his studies in Mirecourt, France.  Under the direction of Master violinmaker Jean Eulry, at the prestigious workshop of La Maison Hilaire, Phillip honed his skills.  He received awards in Europe as finalist in both the first German International Violinmaking Competition, and the 1979 International Competition, in Cremona, Italy.  He worked for Jacques Camurat in Paris and Wolf Dieter Fischer in Munich where he was foreman.

Upon returning to the United States in 1982 to rejoin master violinmaker Vahakn Nigogosian, Phillip Injeian established his first shop.  Located across from the famous Carnegie Hall in New York City, the New York Violin Shop was frequented by many of the musicians of the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera, as well as many famous soloists. And now, just steps away from Pittsburgh's new Convention Center, the Benedum and Heinz Hall, Phillip Injeian Violin Shop has become an icon in the Cultural and civic landscape, attracting visitors to the area, and providing local musicians a convenient first class locale.

As Phillip Injeian’s reputation for excellence grew the demand for his handcrafted instruments rose.
